Cinemark Announces National "Speed of Service" Challenge Finals
Plano, TX...Cinemark USA, Inc., announces the "Speed of Service" (SOS) Challenge Finals on July 14, 2007 at the Cinemark Carefree Circle theatre in Colorado Springs, CO from 6-9pm. The "Speed of Service" challenge will reward the outstanding concessionists from all Cinemark and Century theatres across the country, for speed and efficiency at the concession stand. Ten regional winners were qualified from 16 different regions in the United States.
Regional winners who will compete in Colorado Springs for the national "SOS" championship are Ashley Moore of Movies 16 in Gahanna, OH; Gracie Robinson of Movies 14 in Pueblo, CO; Josh Harris of Movies 8 in Sand Springs, OK; Kate Parnell of Tinseltown 20 in Jacksonville, FL; Charlie Erdall of Tinseltown USA in Kenosha, WI; Irvin Gamino of Tinseltown USA in Jacinto City, TX; Liz Speckman of Movies 9 in Sandy, UT; Jenny Chema of Movies 10 in Mansfield, OH; Chris Lagerlef of Cinemark Legacy in Plano, TX; and Maricela Ortiz of Cinemark West in El Paso, TX.
"Our ‘Speed of Service’ contest reinforces the focus of concession training at Cinemark and provides our concession employees a chance to participate in a circuit-wide competition. The Speed of Service Challenge has truly evolved into an interactive opportunity to improve selling skills and build morale among all concessionists, and also to identify and reward top sellers," commented Bob Shimmin, Vice-President, Food and Beverage for Cinemark USA, Inc.
These 10 finalists will be competing individually on July 14 in the following categories: Most Dollars Collected, Most Units Sold, and Fastest Transaction (dollars per second). A team competition is also scheduled where the finalists will attempt to exceed the total amount collected at last year’s finals. If successful, each member of the team will take home $1,000.00. The individual competitions have a prize of $250.00 for Most Dollars and Most Units, and $500 for Fastest Transaction.
