El Cantante Will Show at Cinemark Theatre The Palace on The Plaza and the Cinemark 20 Beginning Friday, August 3, 2007

Free El Cantante Tee Shirt to the First 100 Customers

Plano, TX... Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (the "Company") announces that El Cantante, the new film that celebrates the life and music of the legendary Puerto Rican salsa singer Héctor Lavoe, starring Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, will be showing at its two Kansas City area theatres, The Palace on The Plaza and the Cinemark 20, beginning Friday, August 3, 2007.

El Cantante brings to theatres Lavoe’s story; that of a pioneer of the sound and sensibility that redefined Latin music in the 1960s and 1970s. Directed by Leon Ichaso, the film is a labor of love for its stars, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, who are both New Yorkers of Puerto Rican descent. Shepherded to the screen and produced by Lopez, El Cantante portrays an era when a new sense of national identity and pride took root in Puerto Rican communities across the U.S. Héctor Lavoe’s music was both a soundtrack to and affirmation of that awakening, and that music courses joyfully through El Cantante.

Tickets for El Cantante are now available at the theatre’s box offices or online at www.cinemark.com. The film opens on August 3, 2007.

In addition, while supplies last both theatres will be giving away free El Cantante t-shirts to the first 100 people on Friday, August 3rd who come to see El Cantante. The offer is limited to one t-shirt per person per valid ticket.

Cinemark’s The Palace on The Plaza is located at 500 Nichols Road in Kansas City, MO. The Cinemark 20 theatre is located at 5500 Antioch Road in Merriam, KS.
