CINEMARK WILL OPEN A NEW 12-SCREEN THEATRE ON OCTOBER 19, 2007
Grand Opening Events include Special Nights for Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation
Plano, Texas (October 12, 2007)…Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (the “Company”) will open a new 12-screen Cinemark theatre complete with all stadium-seating in Cedar Park, Texas, on Friday, October 19, 2007. The new theatre will be located at the 1890 Ranch Shopping Center, 1335 East Whitestone Blvd. (FM 1431) at Hwy. 183A.
Cinemark’s newest movie theatre will offer stadium seating, online ticketing, and concession stands providing candy, freshly popped popcorn, and Coca-Cola fountain drinks. Online ticketing available at www.cinemark.com will make it easy for patrons to purchase tickets in advance from the comfort of their home or office. Customers can then bypass lines at the box office and go directly to a kiosk in the theatre lobby, where they may print their own tickets purchased online using a confirmation number given at the time of purchase. The kiosk also allows ticket purchases via a major credit card or Company gift card. In addition, online customers can sign up to receive weekly showtime emails directly from the Company by signing up for free at www.cinemark.com.
“Cedar Park is a vital, growing part of the north Austin area. Cinemark’s dedication and commitment to this community is surpassed only by our desire to provide a great movie-going experience to our customers,” says Tim Warner, Cinemark’s President. “We know ‘The Best Seat in Town’ will be enjoyed by all of the residents of Cedar Park.”
Several invitation-only pre-grand opening events are planned for the new theatre, including a special community event in support of LEEF, the Leander Education Excellence Foundation, on Wednesday October 17. Various middle and high school students, families and organizations will be able to preview the new theatre, watch a movie and raise money for LEEF through concession stand sales.
On Thursday, October 18th Cinemark will host a Survivor’s Night and pre-Race Kick-Off Party on behalf of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. A ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a night of movies will celebrate local Austin-area breast cancer survivors and honor the tireless efforts of Komen Foundation volunteers who make the race an outstanding annual event. Starting Friday, October 19th until Thursday, October 25th, Cinemark will have Komen pins and bracelets for sale to benefit the organization.
Grand Opening Day giveaways include a free Cinemark grand opening t-shirt for customers who purchase a large fountain drink at the concession stand, and the first 100 customers to purchase a ticket receive a free Goodie Bag filled with movie-themed and Cinemark branded items, while supplies last. Additional movie-themed items will be given away on Saturday and Sunday to the first 100 people each day. Radio remotes, Halloween Bag giveaways and additional activities for children are all planned to round out opening weekend.
