The Cinemark IMAX® Theatre at The Tulsa May 5, 2008, Plano, TX ¡V Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (the "Company") invites audiences to experience a high-velocity thrill ride when the high-octane, live-action family adventure Speed Racer opens at The Cinemark IMAX® Theatre at The Tulsa on Friday, May 9, 2009. From the Wachowski brothers and producer Joel Silver, the creators of The Matrix trilogy, comes the re-envisioning of an enduring classic that blends live-action with groundbreaking visual effects. Speed Racer will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. With crystal clear, larger than life images and state-of-the-art digital surround sound, IMAX will put audiences in the ¡§fast lane¡¨ for this action-packed, totally immersive cinematic experience. Speed Racer: The IMAX Experience will debut concurrently with the nationwide 35mm release from Warner Bros. Pictures.

About Speed Racer

From the Wachowski brothers and producer Joel Silver, creators of the groundbreaking The Matrix trilogy, comes the live-action, high-octane film Speed Racer, which follows the adventures of the young racecar driver Speed (Emile Hirsch) in his quest for glory in his thunderous Mach 5. Joel Silver, who previously worked with the Wachowski brothers on The Matrix movies and V for Vendetta, produced the film under his Silver Pictures banner. Grant Hill, Andy Wachowski and Larry Wachowski are also producers. David Lane Seltzer, Michael Lambert and Bruce Berman are the executive producers. The film stars Emile Hirsch; Christina Ricci; John Goodman; Susan Sarandon; Matthew Fox; Benno Fürmann; Hiroyuki Sanada; Asian pop superstar Rain, making his American feature film debut; and Richard Roundtree. Speed Racer opens in theatres and IMAX across North America on Friday, May 9. The film is a Warner Bros. Pictures presentation, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, of a Silver Pictures Production, in association with Anarchos Productions. Speed Racer will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, and has been rated PG for "sequences of action, some violence and language."
