Hollywood Comes to Hayward as Cinemark Opens a New Century Theatre on October 24, 2008
in Hayward, CA
Plano, Texas (October 20, 2008)...Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (the "Company") will open a new 12-screen first-run Century theatre complete with all stadium-seated auditoriums in Hayward, CA, on Friday, October 24, 2008. The new Century Theatres at Hayward will be located at 1069 B Street, at Cinema Place in downtown Hayward at the corner of Foothill and B Street.
As part of the revitalization of downtown Hayward, this new movie theatre will offer 12 auditoriums with digital sound, stadium seating, online ticketing, concession stands providing candy, freshly popped popcorn, and Coca-Cola fountain drinks, and free parking in the parking garage behind the theatre. Online ticketing available at www.cinemark.com will make it easy for patrons to purchase tickets in advance from the comfort of their home or office. Customers can then bypass lines at the box office and go directly to a kiosk outside the theatre lobby where they may print their own tickets purchased online using a confirmation number given at the time of purchase. The kiosk also allows ticket purchases via a major credit card or Company gift card. In addition, online customers can sign up to receive weekly showtime emails directly from the Company by signing up for free at www.cinemark.com.
“Our new Century Theatres at Hayward is a big step in this important downtown project,” says Tim Warner, President of Cinemark USA, Inc. “We are extremely happy to be a part of the Hayward community and look forward to providing a great entertainment venue to the city.”
Several invitation-only pre-grand opening events are planned for Grand Opening week including a special charity event on Thursday, October 23rd. The invitation-only evening will feature free movies, and proceeds from the concession items sold that evening will benefit the Hayward Education Foundation. On Wednesday evening, October 22nd, Century Theatres at Hayward will celebrate with a special invitation-only event, “Hollywood Comes to Hayward”, that will feature Hollywood celebrity look-alikes, hors d’oeuvres, music and a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by free movies, popcorn and soft drinks.
Grand Opening Day and Weekend giveaways include a free Cinemark grand opening T-shirt for customers who purchase a large fountain drink at the concession stand, while supplies last. The first 150 customers Friday, October 24th through Sunday, October 26th who purchase a ticket to see High School Musical 3: Senior Year will receive a free poster from the film. Saturday afternoon, October 25th will feature a Kids’ Day celebration with face painters, balloon artists, and more from noon to 2:00 pm. That evening, local band Fighting the Villain will perform in the theatre courtyard from 5:00 to 5:30pm.
