CINEMARK ANNOUNCES NEW 12-SCREEN ALL-STADIUM SEATED THEATRE TO OPEN ON OCTOBER 31st, 2008 IN ORO VALLEY, AZ
Plano, Texas… Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (the "Company") will open a 12-screen, all-stadium-seating theatre in Oro Valley, AZ, located north of Tucson at 12155 North Oracle Road on Friday, October 31st,, 2008.
The new Century Theatres at the Oro Valley Marketplace will offer stadium-seating, online ticketing, and a self-serve concession stand providing candy, freshly popped popcorn, and Coca-Cola fountain drinks. Stadium-seating will allow patrons to enjoy unobstructed views from plush, high-backed rocking seats featuring a 16-inch height difference between each row, and spacing of 48 inches between each aisle will give movie-goers more leg room and ample space to enter and exit their row without disturbing other guests.
“Tucson has been home to 4 of our Century theatres for over 30 years, and we are proud to announce our newest addition in Oro Valley,” says James Meredith, Vice Presdient of Marketing for Cinemark USA, Inc. “We have a strong commitment to bring our customers the best movie-going experience possible.” In the weeks ahead, movie-goers will be able to see some of Hollywood’s hottest new releases, including High School Musical 3, and Saw V and in November, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, Quantun of Solace, the new James Bond film, Twilight and Bolt.
Online ticketing available at www.cinemark.com will make it easy for patrons to purchase tickets in advance from the comfort of their home or office. Customers can then bypass lines at the box office and go directly to a kiosk in the theatre lobby, where they may print their own tickets purchased online using a confirmation number given at the time of purchase. The kiosk also allows ticket purchases via a major credit card or Cinemark gift card. In addition, online customers can sign up to receive weekly showtime emails directly from Cinemark.
Several pre-grand opening activities are planned including a special charity fundraiser on Wednesday, Oct. 29th. Invitees will be treated to free movies that evening and concession items will be sold for $1.00 each with all proceeds benefitting Catalina Community Services. On Thursday, Oct. 30th, there is a special VIP Night which will include Guest of Honor, 2-time Olympian and University of Arizona star, Jennie Finch, as well as guests from the Greater Oro Valley Arts Council.
