CINEMARK ANNOUNCES NEW 12-SCREEN ALL-STADIUM SEATED MOVIE THEATRE TO OPEN ON DECEMBER 19TH IN YUBA CITY, CA
Plano, Texas… Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (the "Company") will open a new 12-screen movie theatre in Yuba City, CA on Friday, December 19, 2008. The new Cinemark Yuba City Theatre will offer stadium-seating, online ticketing, and Cinemark’s traditional full service concession stand providing favorite candy brands, freshly popped popcorn and Coca-Cola fountain drinks. The new theatre will replace the Movies 8 location.
“Cinemark is excited to launch our new theatre concept in Yuba City”, says James Meredith, Vice President of Marketing for Cinemark USA, Inc. “It will be a great venue to see Hollywood’s hottest holiday releases, including Seven Pounds, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Yes Man, Bedtime Stories, The Tale of Despereaux, and The Day the Earth Stood Still.” The theatre is located at 1410 Whyler Road, off of Hwy. 99 between Bridge and Franklin Streets.
The theatre’s twelve stadium-seated auditoriums will allow patrons to enjoy unobstructed views of the wall-to-wall screens from plush, high-backed rocking seats featuring a 16-inch height difference between each row. Customers will be able to enter and exit their row without disturbing other guests, and enjoy more leg room because of the 48 inch space between each aisle.
Online ticketing available at www.cinemark.com will make it easy for patrons to purchase tickets in advance from the comfort of their home or office. Customers can then bypass lines at the box office and go directly to a kiosk in the theatre lobby, where they may print their own tickets purchased online using a confirmation number given at the time of purchase. The kiosk also allows ticket purchases via a major credit card or Cinemark gift card. Customers can also sign up to receive weekly emails directly from Cinemark which include showtimes, concession stand promotions, advance ticket announcements, and special events information.
Several pre-grand opening activities are planned, including a special invitation only VIP Night, Wednesday, December 17, with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a special presentation to former Mayors of Yuba City Rory Ramirez and Eric Hellberg. The evening will feature free movies, popcorn and soft drinks for everyone. On Grand Opening weekend the first 1,000 customers who purchase a large Coca-Cola fountain beverage will receive a free Cinemark Grand Opening t-shirt. The first 50 customers each day of grand opening weekend, December 19-21, to purchase a ticket at the box office will receive a free Cinemark Swag Bag with various film and Cinemark goodies.
