CINEMARK ANNOUNCES NEW 14-SCREEN ALL-DIGITAL MOVIE THEATRE TO OPEN ON MAY 8TH IN JOLIET, IL

Plano, Texas… Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (the "Company") will open a new 14-screen movie theatre in Joliet, IL on Friday, May 8, 2009. The new Cinemark Louis Joliet Mall Theatre will offer 14 digital projection auditoriums featuring stadium-seating, as well as online ticketing, and a self-service concession stand providing favorite candy brands, freshly popped popcorn and Coca-Cola fountain drinks.

“Cinemark is excited to present to the community of Joliet this new all digital theatre”, says James Meredith, Vice President of Marketing for Cinemark USA, Inc. “It will be a fantastic venue to see Hollywood’s upcoming blockbuster releases, like Star Trek, Angels and Demons, Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian, Terminator Salvation, and Land of the Lost, Up, and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.” The theatre is located at 3440 Mall Loop Drive in the Westfield Louis Joliet Mall.

All fourteen auditoriums will be outfitted with the latest in digital technology. The movie-goer will enjoy quality presentation free from scratches and deterioration, so the movie is presented exactly as the filmmaker intended. The theatre will also be equipped with Real D digital 3D technology in five auditoriums. The theatre’s stadium-seating will allow patrons to enjoy unobstructed views of the screens from plush, high-backed rocking seats featuring a 16-inch height difference between each row. Customers will be able to enter and exit their row without disturbing other guests, and enjoy more leg room because of the 48 inch space between each aisle.

Online ticketing available at www.cinemark.com will make it easy for patrons to purchase tickets in advance from the comfort of their home or office. Customers can then bypass lines at the box office and go directly to a kiosk in the theatre lobby, where they may print their own tickets purchased online using a confirmation number given at the time of purchase. The kiosk also allows ticket purchases via a major credit card or Cinemark gift card. Customers can also sign up to receive weekly emails directly from Cinemark which include showtimes, concession stand promotions, advance ticket announcements, and special events information.

Several pre-grand opening activities are planned, including a special invitation only event on Wednesday, May 6, with a ribbon cutting ceremony, and an Open House/Media Night on Thursday, May 7. Invitations for Thursday’s event are available through local media and the Westfield Louis Joliet Mall. The evenings will feature free movies, popcorn and soft drinks for everyone. On Grand Opening weekend the first 50 customers each day of grand opening weekend, May 8-10, to see a movie with a ticket purchased online or at the box office will receive a free Cinemark Swag Bag filled with various film and Cinemark goodies.
