CINEMARK THEATRES TO PRESENT MAYWEATHER VS. MARQUEZ:

“NUMBER ONE/NUMERO UNO” WELTERWEIGHT SHOWDOWN ON SEPTEMBER 19

Plano, TX – Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CNK), a leading motion picture exhibitor, will bring live world championship boxing to over sixty theatre screens across the country in high definition for the first time ever with the showing of the highly anticipated 12-round welterweight fight between six-time world champion Floyd “Money” Mayweather and five-time world champion Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez. The fight and the televised undercard will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET/ 5:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 19, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The fight, being billed as Mayweather vs. Marquez: “Number One/Numero Uno” marks the return of boxing to movie theaters for the first time in nearly three decades. Boxing fans will be virtually ringside to experience every punch, jab and hook thrown during this ultimate showdown. “It’s like being in the arena itself,” states James Meredith, VP of Marketing for Cinemark. “For boxing fans, seeing two great fighters on the big screen in a classic match is an event you don’t want to miss.”

Mayweather, considered by many the best fighter of his era, returns to the ring after a brief retirement. Mexico City’s Marquez has long been revered by boxing purists as one of the best in the sport, and considers this fight to be the biggest in his professional carreer. In addition, the fight takes place on the weekend of Mexico’s Independence Day so the stage is set for unprecedented excitement and energy.
