Custom On-Screen Messages Terms

Content Restrictions for Custom Messages: Your message must be your original work. The creator of the message must have permission from any recognizable individuals who appear in the message to use their names and likenesses in the message and to grant the rights set forth herein. Minors may only be included in the message if the creator is their parent or legal guardian. Your message must not be: inappropriate, offensive, indecent, obscene, sexually explicit, hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous.

Your message cannot: 

• contain advertising of any sort;
• contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement;
• convey any claims of Cinemark’s products or services that would be deemed unsubstantiated or deceptive if made by Cinemark;
• disparage Cinemark or any other parties;
• promote theatres, theatre circuits or other entities that are competitive with Cinemark;
• promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons, gambling, suicide or self-harm, any activities that are or appear to be dangerous, or any political agenda;
• promote or glorify violence, harassment, exploitation of minors, illegal activities, or gory material;
• promote bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age;
• contain material that is unlawful, in violation of, or contrary to the laws or regulations in any state where Message is created;
• promote adult content, including nudity, sexual aids, birth control, overly suggestive or sexually provocative material;
• promote for the purpose of misleading, manipulating or interfering in elections, or other civic processes or social issues;
• contain music or playlists that are intended to shock or disgust;
• contain brand names or trademarks other than those owned by Cinemark, which entrant has a limited license to use to incorporate in his/her Message; or
• contain harmful content related to COVID-19 and/or the global pandemic.

Cinemark reserves the right to reject any content that it finds unlawful, or in violation of these restrictions, or for any other reason at its sole and absolute discretion.
