1/11/2021 • 3 min read
There's nothing like a night out at the movies, especially when you can spend time with someone special. While this year hasn't offered as many options as we'd like, we're open and able to host your date nights once again!
Even with the release schedule being what it is this fall, no matter what interests you share with your significant other, Cinemark has you covered with excellent new and classic movie options. We also have beer, wine and cocktails available in select theatres, and wonderfully comfortable luxury loungers to add a special touch to your night out.
Here are the best new date night movies playing now and coming to theatres soon.
The Little Things
For the couple that likes Oscar winners. THE LITTLE THINGS is a '90s-set cop thriller that teams three owners of little gold men: Denzel Washington and Rami Malek play mismatched cops who join forces to track a serial killer in Los Angeles; Jared Leto plays their prime suspect. Expect surprises and betrayals as the three each pursues various efforts to reveal and conceal the truth.
For the couple that wants a serious tear-jerker. In SUPERNOVA, Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci play long-standing partners who are vacationing through the English countryside. This isn't just a fun getaway, however. Tucci's character has been diagnosed with early-onset dementia, and the two are, in part, making things right with one another and friends and family as they prepare for an uncertain future.
The World to Come
For the couple that loves a period romance. In THE WORLD TO COME, Katherine Waterston stars as Abigail, a farmer’s wife in the American Northeast during the 19th Century, who becomes drawn to her new neighbor Tallie (Vanessa Kirby). As each comes to terms with their own difficulties at home, they realize that their intimacy offers something they never expected.
Judas and the Black Messiah
For the couple that wants to see two rising stars go head to head. Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield star as Illinois Black Panther Party chairman Fred Hampton and career thief William O'Neal. When the latter is recruited by the FBI to spy on Hampton, O'Neal finds his particular skillset put to good use even as his soul is caught in a terrible quandary.
For the couple that likes a touching true story. OUR FRIEND is based on the life of Matt and Nicole Teague — played in the movie by Casey Affleck and Dakota Johnson — who get help from their friend Dane (Jason Segel) while dealing with Nicole's terminal cancer diagnosis. At first, Dane moves in for a short time to help around the house, and then he becomes a more devoted part of their extended family as the situation grows more dire.
