Memorial Day Movies Opening in 2023

The Little Mermaid

Halle Bailey stars as Ariel in this retelling of Disney's version of the classic Hans Christian Anderson story. While the cast is new (Jonah Hauer-King, Javier Bardem, and Melissa McCarthy, with Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina) the characters and, yes, the songs are the classics you know and love.

The Machine

Comedian Bert Kreischer's story about rebranding himself "the Machine" during a trip to Russia is a tale so wild it cannot be true, and yet, supposedly it is. Kreischer stars in the movie THE MACHINE which is basically a sequel to his story in which he and his father (Mark Hamill) are targeted by some of the people Bert had wronged during that legendary trip to Russia.

About My Father

A culture clash comedy written by stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco based on his own experience. When Sebastien tells his very traditional Italian immigrant father Salvo (Robert De Niro) that he plans to marry an American girl, Salvo inserts himself into a weekend getaway with the parents of the bride-to-be.

Still in Theaters on Memorial Day in 2023

Those three movies are the big new releases for Memorial Day Weekend 2023, but some of the year's big movies will still be playing, too!

Fast X

Dom (Vin Diesel) and his extended family must contend with Dante (Jason Momoa), who was cast aside and left for dead during one of the crew's past adventures. Now Dante is angry and well-funded, thanks to a partnership with Cipher (Charlize Theron), and racing for vengeance.

Love Again

Celine Dion appears as herself in the story of a couple that finds love thanks to the whims of chance — or fate. Mira is texting her late fiancé as a way to deal with her grief, but her confessionals are being received by a journalist who now has the dead man's phone number. A work assignment puts him in touch with Celine Dion, and soon the singer is helping the journalist connect with the grief-stricken woman.

Book Club: The Next Chapter

ing Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen star as four friends who take a girls trip to Italy. There, old secrets are revealed and the jaunt meant to be a relaxing getaway turns into a full-on adventure.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

The Guardians are at a turning point as Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) reels from the death of Gamora. As the team ponders their future — as individuals and as a group — a new challenge looms that might destroy them all.
