The time has finally come! Wonder Woman is back on the big screen in the much-anticipated sequel, WONDER WOMAN 1984. As the timeline zooms forward from World War I to the Cold War, Wonder Woman squares off against two new villains: Maxwell Lord and the Cheetah.
We spoke with Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, about what to expect from the action-packed second installment. "Within the first movie, we got to witness the birth of a hero," she said. "In this movie, she’s no longer that. She’s much more mature. She understands the complexities of mankind. Not only that, she shares the same perspectives as theirs and suffers from the same problems as mankind does."
Getting to play Wonder Woman certainly has its perks, but for Gadot the relationship with her character is an extraordinary one. "To be the one who gets to be the vessel for this character and be the symbol for all the fans and getting all the love and support that they have and share for this character is amazing," she said. "I am forever grateful for that."
The star knows what a fantastic experience it is to see a film like WONDER WOMAN 1984 on the Cinemark big screen, saying, "This is movie is meant to be watched on the biggest screen possible. We shot the movie on film, in full IMAX." She went on to say, "If you want to have the real experience of the movie, please go and watch it on the big screen!"
