The action movie has gone through an amazing evolution in the last few decades. Now, thanks to ingenious filmmakers, daring stunt performers and state of the art digital effects, the best action movies create sights we never thought we'd see on the big screen.

Action movies got off to a great start in 2020 with BAD BOYS FOR LIFE, and while we had to take a few months off, there are a lot more innovative and exciting action movies on the way. Here are the best new action movies you can watch in theatres soon.

As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war that will wipe out millions, one man races against time to stop them. THE KING'S MAN reveals the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in the world — as previously seen in the two KINGSMAN movies. Harris Dickson, Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans and Matthew Goode star, with appearances from Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, with Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance.

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins

This G.I. JOE spin-off tells the story of the masked ninja Snake Eyes. The character has his origin in 1982, when Hasbro wanted a low-cost action figure to fill out the line of relaunched G.I. Joe toys. Then the associated Marvel Comics series of comic books gave the character a strong backstory featuring strong character ties, betrayal, and redemption. We expect to see a lot fo those story elements in this new movie, which stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes. (And with Golding in the role, we expect that Snake Eyes, who is almost always seen wearing a mask, will not be covered up for this entire movie.) Andrew Koji plays the ninja Storm Shadow while Indonesian action master Iko Uwais appears as their shared sensei, Hard Master. Úrsula Corberó plays the Cobra officer Baroness, while Samara Weaving (READY OR NOT) appears as the G.I. Joe character Scarlett. (Image via Henry Golding's Instagram.

Scarlett Johansson isn't done with her Black Widow character yet! In BLACK WIDOW, she reprises the role and takes the spotlight at long last as Natasha Romanoff faces the secrets and pain of her past, and squares off against a foe who seems to be able to learn Natasha's every move. BLACK WIDOW is the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. See the BLACK WIDOW trailers here.
