Cinemark’s How To Train Your Dragon Epic Adventure Sweepstakes Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

1. Eligibility: Cinemark’s How To Train Your Dragon Epic Adventure Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 21 years old and have a Cinemark Movie Rewards account at the time of entry. Employees of Cinemark USA, Inc., Universal City Development Partners, Ltd. d/b/a Universal Orlando Resort, Merkle Inc., and their parent, subsidiary, and affiliated companies (“Promotion Entities”), as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible to enter or win the prize. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes and are not subject to appeal. Winning the prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

2. Sponsor: Cinemark USA, Inc., 3900 Dallas Parkway, Plano, TX 75093. Administrator: Merkle Inc. (formerly known as HelloWorld, Inc.), 3000 Town Center, Suite 2100, Southfield, MI 48075.

3. Timing: The Sweepstakes begins on May 1, 2025 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") and ends on June 15, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the "Promotion Period"). Sponsor’s servers are the official time-keeping devices for the Sweepstakes.

4. How to Enter: During the Promotion Period, there are two (2) ways to enter the Sweepstakes:

a. Enter by Purchasing Ticket Through the Cinemark App With Account: During the Promotion Period, if you do not yet have the Cinemark App (the “App”), using your mobile device, download the App from Google Play or the App Store. The App is free but subject to the terms and conditions described within the App. Use of the App requires a web-enabled device and therefore data rates may apply.

Then, via the App, register or log into your Cinemark Rewards account (“Account”) and follow the links and instructions to purchase at least one (1) standard General Admission Ticket for the movie “How To Train Your Dragon” (“Qualifying Purchase”). Next, follow the links and instructions to access the Cinemark Movie Rewards Reward Center and elect to enter “Cinemark’s How To Train Your Dragon Epic Adventure Sweepstakes” by completing and submitting the registration form, including your name and valid email address, and you automatically will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes, subject to the limit below.

b. Enter by Purchasing Ticket at Cinemark.com With Account: During the Promotion Period, log into your Account online at https://www.cinemark.com/Membership/SignIn and follow the links and instructions to make a Qualifying Purchase. Then, follow the links and instructions to access the Cinemark Movie Rewards Reward Center and elect to enter “Cinemark’s How To Train Your Dragon Epic Adventure Sweepstakes” by completing and submitting the registration form, including your name and valid email address, and you automatically will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes, subject to the limit below.

c. Enter by Purchasing Ticket At Theater With Account: : During the Promotion Period, at a participating Cinemark theater, make a Qualifying Purchase and provide your Account info at checkout by either (i) scanning the QR code in your Account; (iii) providing your phone number associated with your Account; or (iii) providing your email address associated with your Account. Then, follow the links and instructions to access the Cinemark Movie Rewards Reward Center and elect to enter “Cinemark’s How To Train Your Dragon Epic Adventure Sweepstakes” by completing and submitting the registration form, including your name and valid email address, and you automatically will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes, subject to the limit below.

b. Enter by Mail: To enter without using the App or purchasing a ticket, print your name, mailing address, phone number associated with your Account, the email address associated with your Account, and date of birth on a piece of paper and mail it in an envelope with proper postage to “Cinemark’s How To Train Your Dragon Epic Adventure Sweepstakes,” P.O. Box 5025, Department 866384, Kalamazoo, MI 49003-5025. You will receive 1 entry into the Sweepstakes. Limit: 1 entry per envelope. All mail-in entries must be handwritten and must be postmarked by June 16, 2025 and received by June 23, 2025. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor, and none will be acknowledged or returned. Proof of sending or submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor.  Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, illegible, misdirected or postage-due entries, which will be disqualified.   

Limit: You may receive one (1) entry during the Promotion Period.  Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same Cinemark Movie Rewards account. Any attempt by any entrant to obtain more than one (1) entry/stated number of entries by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that entrant's entries and that entrant may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and may result in disqualification. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, Sponsor will rely on the information submitted by the entrant to register for this Sweepstakes. If any additional information provided by entrant is inconsistent with the information provided at registration for this Sweepstakes, Sponsor may disqualify such entrant and such disqualification may result in the forfeiture of any prizes won. Sponsor, in its discretion, may require additional documentation from entrant to show proof of entrant’s identity.

5. Drawing: Sponsor’s and Administrator’s decisions as to the administration and operation of the Sweepstakes and the selection of the potential winner are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes and are not subject to appeal. Administrator will randomly select the potential Sweepstakes winner from all eligible entries received during the Promotion Period, on or around June 30, 2025. The potential winner will be notified by email. The potential Grand Prize winner will be required to sign and return a Declaration of Compliance, Liability Waiver and where not prohibited a Publicity Release ("Declaration") which must be received by Administrator within 5 days of the date notice or attempted notice is sent, in order to claim the prize. If a potential winner of the prize cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the Declaration or provide any other requested information within the required time period, or the prize is returned as undeliverable, the potential winner forfeits the prize. Receiving the prize is contingent upon compliance with these Official Rules. In the event that the potential winner is disqualified for any reason or forfeits the prize, Sponsor will award the prize to an alternate winner by random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries. Only 3 alternate drawings will be held, after which the prize will remain un-awarded.

6. Prize: 1 GRAND PRIZE: Winner will receive a 5 day, 4 night trip for Winner and up to 3 guests (“Guest(s)”) to Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida (“Trip”). 

Trip will include round trip economy class air transportation for Winner and Guests from a major commercial airport near Winner’s home (as determined by Universal Orlando in its sole discretion) to Orlando, Florida*; 4 nights’ standard hotel accommodation (one room, quadruple  occupancy, room and tax only) at Universal Terra Luna Resort or at another Universal Orlando Resort hotel (as determined by Universal Orlando in its sole discretion); non-exclusive ground transportation to and from airport and hotel in Orlando, Florida*; and Universal Orlando 3-Park 3-Day Park-to-Park PLUS 1-Day Universal Epic Universe Tickets for admission to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure theme parks, Universal Volcano Bay water theme park, plus 1 day admission to Universal Epic Universe, for Winner and Guests. The Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of the Trip is $4,987.88.

Trip must occur from September 1, 2025 – September 1, 2026 or Prize will be forfeited. Travel dates and arrangements are subject to air travel, holiday, block out dates, and other prize and travel restrictions. Travel dates are subject to Universal Orlando and Sponsor approval. Reservations are subject to availability. Trip must be booked at least 60 days prior to intended departure date. If Winner elects to partake in any or all portions of the Prize with fewer than the allotted number of Guests or no Guests, the Prize will be awarded to Winner and each participating Guest and any remainder of the Prize will be forfeited and shall not be subject to further or alternative compensation. All elements of the Prize must be redeemed at the same time, and no changes will be permitted after confirmation of any redemption. Unless child or ward of Winner or one of the allotted Guests, each Guest must be 18 years of age or older as of the date of departure and must travel on the same itinerary and at the same time as the Winner. ARV of Prize may vary depending upon the points of departure, ground transportation, and/or airline fare fluctuations; any difference between stated ARV and final ARV of Prize will not be awarded. Prize consists only of the elements expressly set forth above; no other elements or expenses (including, without limitation, insurance, meals, unspecified ground transportation, phone calls, baggage, gratuities, incidentals, souvenirs, gasoline, etc.) are included in the Prize and all such expenses are the sole responsibility of Winner. Winner is responsible for any air travel taxes and/or expenses, including applicable departure taxes or fees, inspection charges, baggage fees, and security charges. Winner and Guests are responsible for obtaining, at their own expense, any necessary travel documentation (i.e. valid photo identification, visas, passports, etc.) prior to travel. Once issued, tickets are nontransferable and may not be reissued once travel has commenced. Open tickets may not be issued, and stopovers are not permitted. Travel arrangements must be made through Universal Orlando.     

*For a Winner who is a Florida resident, air transportation may be substituted with another method of transportation by Universal Orlando in its sole discretion.

In connection with any visit to Universal Orlando Resort, please be advised that Universal’s policies, CDC guidelines, and the recommendations of health officials must be followed. In addition, Guests should be aware of and comply with government guidelines regarding travel restrictions and mandatory quarantines before visiting any Universal destination.  Please note that any public location where people are present provides an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19, and Universal cannot guarantee that any person will not be exposed during a visit.

All parts of the prize are subject to availability and block out dates, and subject to change without written notice or warning. Should any circumstances beyond the reasonable control of a party, whether or not existing, known, foreseen or foreseeable at the time this Sweepstakes occurs, render the redemption or fulfilment of some or all of the prize delayed, hindered, adversely affected, impracticable, or impossible, Universal Orlando Resort in its sole and absolute discretion, reserves the right to evaluate and make modifications to the redemption and fulfillment processes and timelines for the Prize, which may include but is not limited to providing additional time for redemption and/ or fulfillment, or offering experiences and items of an equivalent or greater value. Winner is responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Odds of winning the prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period. Prize will be fulfilled approximately 8-10 weeks after the conclusion of the Sweepstakes.

Universal City Development Partners, Ltd. d/b/a Universal Orlando Resort (“Universal Orlando”) is a prize provider only in this Sweepstakes, is not a sponsor of this Sweepstakes and is not responsible for the administration of the Sweepstakes, the collection of entries, or the selection of any winner. Any disputes, claims, and causes of action against Universal Orlando arising out of or relating to any person’s use of or participation in any prize provided by Universal Orlando (“Universal Orlando Prize Claims”) shall be resolved by applying the laws of Florida, without regard to conflict of laws provisions therein, and shall be solely and exclusively brought in state or federal courts within Orange County, Florida. Such claims shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and all such claims shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event to include attorneys’ fees.

All prize details will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Prize is non-transferable, and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Winner is responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Odds of winning the prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period.

Limit: One (1) prize per person. Prizes will be fulfilled approximately 8-10 weeks after the conclusion of the Sweepstakes.

7. Release: By receipt of the prize, winner agrees to release and hold harmless Promotion Entities, DreamWorks Animation L.L.C. and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.

8. Publicity: Except where prohibited, participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes winner’s consent to Sponsor’s and its agents’ use of winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.

9. General Conditions: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Sweepstakes, if any fraud, technical failures, human error, or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Sweepstakes, or any event or cause beyond Sponsor’s control (e.g. events such as natural calamities, national emergencies, widespread illnesses, pandemics, declarations of war, acts of God, acts of terrorism) interferes with any aspect of the Sweepstakes, including but not limited to fulfillment of the prize(s), as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may elect to hold a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of discontinuance and may modify the prizes offered herein. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules of this or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

10. Limitations of Liability: The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Sweepstakes; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of entries; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail; or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. If for any reason an entrant's entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, entrant’s sole remedy is another entry in the Sweepstakes, if it is possible. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random drawing among all legitimate, un-awarded, eligible prize claims.

11. Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan or the appropriate Michigan State Court located in Oakland County, Michigan; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Michigan without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Michigan or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Michigan.

12. Severability: If the application of any provision of these Official Rules to any particular facts or circumstances shall for any reason be held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable by a court, arbitration panel or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction, then (a) the validity, legality and enforceability of such provision as applied to any other particular facts or circumstances, and the other provisions of these Official Rules, shall not in any way be affected or impaired thereby; and (b) such provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent possible. In addition, if any provision contained in these Official Rules shall for any reason be held to be excessively broad as to duration, geographical scope, activity, or subject, it shall be construed by limiting and reducing it, so as to be enforceable to the extent compatible with applicable law.
