As the title suggests, MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU bridges the first MINIONS spin-off with its parent series, DESPICABLE ME. In 2015, MINIONS (pictured above) revealed the history of the chattering little yellow mischief-makers. Now the sequel will take the creatures towards their destiny with the most despicable villain of all: Steve Carell's Gru. Kyle Balda returns to direct, with Brad Ableson as co-director.

Armed with his new understanding of the world, Guy decides to rewrite his own story so that he can be the hero, however unlikely that may be. In a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way...before it is too late
